The Commercial Supply Chain Specialist independently performs a wide variety of activities supporting Vertex’s Supply Chain.
Activities typically consist of well-defined support tasks that are performed independently as well as projects of increased complexity completed under limited supervision.
The specialist will work closely with key stakeholders including Finance, Regulatory, Commercial, Logistics, QA, MSAT and Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under direction of supervisor, participates in limited areas of projects and/or timelines, which vary in function and in scope.
  • Works with senior Supply Chain and Quality staff to conduct transactions for batch and patient milestones.
  • Confirms completion and tracking of supply chain supply-related documentation.
  • Inventory Management.
  • Performs administrative functions for the larger project team and department, including creating PowerPoint slides for presentations and maintaining dashboards for project status and metrics.
  • Multi-tasks to effectively manage own efforts on multiple projects.
  • Troubleshoots routine problems.
  • Takes meeting minutes and updates documentation.
  • Assists other Supply Chain staff and working teams/suppliers in the execution of workstream

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to analyze straightforward problems and develop possible solutions using technical experience and judgment; may escalate unusual or complex problems.
  • Ability to effectively balance customer expectations with internal/team expectations.
  • Ability to apply conceptual knowledge of supply chain methods/theories while acquiring deeper knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g. GMP. GCP, Part 11).
  • Works effectively across departments and levels, building and maintaining productive relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong ability to manage own workload and lead/guide others on the team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to exchange relevant, and at times complex, information cross-functionally and ensuring understanding.
  • Preferred prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
