Vertex is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our Controllership organization as a leader within the Global Revenue Accounting team. 
Revenue Accounting is integral to delivering Vertex’s mission of creating trans? formative medicines for people with serious and life-threatening diseases.
You will be working as part of a dynamic and diverse organization alongside out? standing people who are forward thinking, collaborative and recognized leaders in their areas.
The Associate Director position is a key role with the Global Revenue Accounting team leading a team of 3 and is responsible for the end-to-end Order to Invoice cycle for International Region.
The role offers an exciting blend of leadership, operational, financial compliance and transformation change responsibilities and will require the individual will use their operational knowledge and business acumen along with enterprise leadership to drive change, embed improvements, ensure compliance and accuracy within reporting.
Central to this role is fostering exceptional working relationships across functions including Global Supply Chain, third-party logistics providers “3PLs”, Markets Access and regional finance &accounting teams.
The individual will also be well organized, comfortable presenting and influencing senior stake? holders and able to manage competing deadlines.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management of 3PLs

  • Full responsibility for management of 3PL relationship including but not limited to: performance management, risk management & issue resolution
  • Ownership of key controls and ensure compliance with SOX requirements within
  • Order to Cash Ownership of monthly KPI dashboard for Revenue Operations including the development and monitoring of
  • Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, Logistics and Regional Teams to ensure correct set-up within 3PL
  • Responsible for the daily data fees from 3PLs ensuring they are complete & accurate

Pricing
  • Ownership of on invoicing pricing ensuring they are complete and accurate
  • Working closely with Market Access and 3PLs to ensure they are on invoice pricing is complete and accurate
  • Ownership of key controls and ensure compliance with SOX requirements with regards to Pricing

In house Order to Invoice
  • Responsible of in-house Order to Invoice process
  • Ensuring Pricing is set up withing Oracle ERP Ownership of Customer Master Data (CMD) set-up withing Oracle ERP
  • Collaborate with Credit Control to ensure up-to-date payment terms and credit limits are in place

New Market Set up
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Tax, Treasury, and Regional Teams to facility new markets & supply arrangements Team Management

Team Management
  • Provide proactive leadership to drive the team, through strong coaching of direct reports and their teams, encouraging an open and inclusive environment in which everyone is encouraged to speak up and take accountability for their part of the process
  • Team size: >3

Continuous Improvement
  • Pro-actively improve, automate, and simplify processes and schedules used by the team to allow scalability as we grow and reducing the risk of calculation errors
  • Drive and sponsor change across the team, bring experience of simplification and continuous improvement mindset

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or Masters
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills necessary for leading cross functional projects and presenting to senior management (including accounting, finance and commercial management)
  • People management experience Oracle & SAP experience (Accounts Receivable)
  • Typically requires 8 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry or the equivalent combination of education and experience; prior experience in outsourcing arrangement and Order to Cash process
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to quickly establish credibility and build effective, collaborative, working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst still maintaining attention to detail and effective controls
  • Ability to present to all levels of management
  • Prior experience in working in a SOX compliant company is dis? tinct advantage
