Position Summary
The Director, Regional Finance, will use their business acumen and enterprise leadership mindset to play an active part on the cross-functional country leadership team, with a focus on providing Finance partnering support.
This includes forecasting, performance management, accounting, and internal controls. The role is a key business partner to the Country Manager.
This position is based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, within the Southern Europe and Brazil regional organization. Build key relationships with Global CAO services and act as a liaison with our in-country outsourced providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the affiliate, including the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
- Provide financial leadership to the Brazil entity and drive partnership with local business leads.
- Part of core deal team working to unlock reimbursement in the country, lead on all financial analysis in support of dossier creation, pricing decisions and reimbursement negotiations.
- Drive the Brazil financial forecast and financial reporting processes.
- Actively integrate the corporate planning activities with various business leaders.
- Develop local goals supporting achievement the overall international goals.
- Support local team in analysing and driving market KPIs.
- Partner with local team in setting and controlling field incentive scheme.
- Driving further finance and accounting input into the revenue forecast for the countries in scope.
- Provide demand forecast for countries in scope and partner with Supply Chain to optimize stock levels and improve forecast accuracy.
- Provide effective leadership facilitating collaboration among shared service transactional groups and local stakeholders.
- Supporting finance and accounting transactional processes in countries such as record to report and source to settle, including forecasting, accruals and training to local teams.
- Drive rigorous and transparent application of group policies and procedures throughout the countries in scope.
- Reinforcing a robust internal control framework.
- Work with international finance and corporate tax on all local tax filings.
- Assist with statutory accounts filings across legal entity serviced.
- Participate in external audit and other professional relationships.
- Coordinate with Global CAO Services on the use of in country outsourced service providers.
- Develop business cases for strategic investments.
- Partner with legal to ensure completeness, accuracy and monitoring of contractual arrangements.
- Participate in assessment and deployment of efficient systems, processes and operations.
- Participating in global projects representing local needs.
- Prepare briefing materials for senior management.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Advanced Degree in Accounting or Business administration.
- Extensive experience in a major company or division of a large corporation, progressively responsible experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or health care industries performing financial planning, sales forecasting, business analytics, or consulting roles.
- Experience conducting complex analytic assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English and Brazilian languages.
- A solid understanding of financial valuation techniques as well as experience evaluating alternative investment opportunities and business strategies.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to navigate the corporate landscape, quickly establish credibility and build effective, collaborative, working relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify key issues and value drivers, and translate strategic insights into an appropriate analytic framework.
- Ability to partner with other functional areas to develop, improve and monitor compliance with policies and procedures including taking a leadership role on certain initiatives.
- A track record of proactively identifying problems and gaining consensus on potential solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency of MS Excel (including VBA Macros), MS PowerPoint and financial planning and reporting systems (Hyperion, OBIEE).
