The Project Manager for DTE (Data, Technology & Engineering) Commercial International is a role within the Project Management and Strategic Operations team reporting directly to the Director, Commercial and CPEAO Portfolio Manager with accountability to the Senior Director, Business Engagement Leader to support our international activities.
The PM will have execution delivery responsibilities for the Commercial portfolio covering various projects related to Field Enablement, Master Data Management, Customer Engagement (Martech) and Analytics initiatives, supporting key launches for new disease areas and supporting the migration of Canada activities to the NEAD region.
The PM will be charged with hands-on management of all project activities from initiation to launch, ensuring to drive project outcomes and accurate status reporting (from day to day to leadership levels) across all workstreams.
They will work closely with the implementation delivery partners, software vendors and Vertex DTE and Business colleagues to ensure successful project delivery.
The Project Manager will ensure that the project is in alignment with other inter-dependent projects, programs and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and track all project deliverables (including project charters, schedule, status and stage gates) and drive the project to completion and launch.
- Manage, monitor, and report on the project execution including:
- Project schedule (tasks, owners, start/end dates, and dependencies) including all cross-functional activities.
- Pro-actively identify any resource issues within the project and mitigate risks and escalations.
- Manage the RAID (Risk, Action, Issue, Decision) log; ensuring all decisions are accurately captured, actions are completed by their due date, and risks/issues are assessment, managed, and communicated appropriately. All cross-functional items are to be managed in the RAID log.
- Regularly interacts with functional areas beyond own department.
- Conducts complex scenario planning to proactively provide analysis and recommendations on alternative plans, along with the associated assumptions and risks.
- Effectively summarizes key information such as program progress, timeline updates, and risk/opportunity assessments for periodic presentations to management.
- Compiles succinct reports and prepare minutes for select internal meetings; methodically tracks all action items, and finds new ways to stay abreast of these multi-dimensional tasks.
- Maintain frequent communication with the network of cross-functional internal and external stakeholders so that all parties are aware of current program status, issues, contingencies, and milestones.
- Contributes to the best practices of project management to support the continued success and evolution of the department.
- Coordinates the tools used within the department.
- Deliver a weekly project status report to project stakeholders in the agreed Vertex format and status the project across varying levels from day to day teams, business partners and leadership with appropriate levels of messaging and content.
Skills & Experience Required:
- The Project Manager is required to have relevant PMO-related experience specifically in the Life Science domain as well as technical experience to ensure they adequately drive various cross functional teams forward, challenge thinking and construct proper plans for project delivery. This experience will be critical in understanding both the process challenges and the technology being implemented, which will help the project manager facilitate successful delivery outcomes.
- In addition, it is expected that the Project Manager has experience managing and deploying projects related to Commercial Technology systems or programs such as Veeva CRM, Martech systems (web, CDP, email), Master Data Management and AI experience or similar.
- The project manager will be expected to apply relevant life sciences technology expertise to this role including input into project scope, business process analysis, best practices, and system adoption.
- Additional responsibilities beyond those listed above will be agreed upon between the project manager and DTE portfolio manager for Commercial.
